Terms of Service

The rules for using UpDrive, written to be read. The short version: your files are yours, and we look after them carefully.
1. Using UpDrive
These terms apply when you use the UpDrive apps and website. By creating an account you agree to them. If you use family sharing, you are responsible for the people you invite.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Give us accurate details so we can reach you about your account and backups.
- Tell us straight away at hello@updrive.cloud if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. Your content
You own everything you upload. We don't claim any rights over your files. You give us only the permission we need to store, process and show them back to you and the people you choose to share with.
Please only upload content you have the right to keep, and don't use UpDrive to store or share anything illegal or harmful.
4. Paid plans
UpDrive includes some free storage. If you need more, paid plans and their prices are shown in the app before you buy anything.
- We will tell you before any change to a price you pay takes effect.
- Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play also follow their refund rules.
5. If a paid plan ends
If a paid plan ends and you are storing more than the free amount, your account becomes read-only: nothing new is backed up, but you can still view and download everything for 30 days. If you don't renew after further reminders, files over the free amount may be deleted at the end of a grace period. Renew at any time before then and everything carries on as normal.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the security of the service.
- Don't use UpDrive to distribute malware, spam or content that infringes other people's rights.
- Don't resell the service or use automated tools to abuse it.
7. The service
We work hard to keep your files safe and UpDrive available, and we keep improving it, which means features may change over time. We don't promise the service will never be interrupted, so for files that are irreplaceable we recommend keeping more than one copy.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
8. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from the app; download anything you want to keep first. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Where we can, we'll warn you first and give you time to download your files.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll let you know in the app or by email before the changes apply. If you keep using UpDrive after that, the new terms apply.
